Original fishing lures and ice fishing decoys handmade in Virginia

About the Artist

Bill has a Masters in Fine Arts. He taught art in New York City

for over 30 years. He is now happily retired and living

Midlothian, Virginia.  An avid fisherman since childhood, Bill

regularly attends fishing and outdoor shows.  A number

of years ago, while browsing fishing lures, he discovered a hand made

fishing lure and was intrigued.  It seemed to him the perfect outlet

for his artistic side,as well as a natural bridge to his favorite pastime, fishing.

About the Process
All items, both decoys and lures are carved from hardwoods. No bass or balsa wood is used.

All lures are original designs.  What separates Bill's work from other handmade lures is the painting.  Only the best quality of paints is used.  They will never fade or discolor.  All pieces are brush painted, never air brushed.

Only hardwoods are used.  Walnut, cherry, mahogany, and maple ensure durability.   Bill was lucky enough to purchase a large quantity of Creek Chub hardware.  All screws and screw eyes are genuine C.C.  The glass eyes are from the 1920's, hooks are Gamakatsu or from vintage lures.  Propellers are also vintage.

Most lures are one-of-a-kind.  Occasionally Bill will make a few of one style.  Lures range in price from $25.00 to $75.00.  Satisfaction is always guaranteed.
